LED Festival Design Lights Up The City SPD Milan Italy Naviglio

Three groups of Interior Design Master students of Scuola Politecnica di Design SPD with installations at LED (Light Exhibition Design) festival in Milan, Italy.

Mettiti in luce (Show your light), Diventa un angelo (Become an angel) and Accendi il tuo naviglio (Switch) are the suggestive titles of the three SPD students’ projects participating in of LED festival in Milan, Italy. Organized by the Council of Milan and taking place from December 4, 2010 to January 10, 2011, LED Light Exhibition Festival will light up the city with exciting installations and fascinating ideas, concepts and works conceived by renowned designers as well as students from Milan’s design schools and professionals, who have participated in a preliminary competition.

At its second edition, the Festival is aiming at becoming a yearly event connecting the design and architectural world and its visions of urban spaces to everyday life via installations that can be enjoyed throughout the whole town.

Three of the thirty winning projects of the competition were conceived by the creative workgroups of students of the 2009/2010 Scuola Politecnica di Design Master in Interior Design. Only one further students’ projects, beyond the ones by SPD’s students, has been elected for the exhibition.

The three projects by SPD students Luca Carretta, Maria Cristina Cerina and Dimitra Pavlidou (Mettiti in luce), Alessandra Reda, Veronica Perez and Susiana Tjiu (Diventa un angelo) and Ekaterina Vasilnko, Ernesto Sempere Garcia, Alvaro Insua Castro (Accendi il tuo naviglio) as well as all the other selected projects, will be installed during the Christmas and New Year period, conferring an enchanted and delightful atmosphere to the streets, places and parks throughout Milan.
